I recently became more involved in the management of my CSA which I have been a member of for the last couple years. I took some pictures today for our website and newsletter. I enjoy taking still life shots of food.
Eggs in repose.
Relaxing with a little chamomile.
Excuse me – do you speak chive?
Dem's some damn good looking eggs.

Sunset Collage
I went to Miami Beach and there was a spectacular view of the sunset behind Miami. I took a lot of pictures but I had a couple favorites that follow:

Berry Bush near Fresh Pond
Took a walk around Fresh Pond just after the New Year. This bush seemed to be a good subject in the dying light.

Arizona Sunrise
What I love about the twilight early dawn and dusk hours is the slow color grades from deep blood orange to yellow, green and then dipping navy, grey and into black. Photo taken at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix. Yes, that's a star or a planet there. Venus?

View from our terrace
In May of 2009, we moved out of our basement hobbit hole apartment in Cobble Hill to a bright and spacious apartment in hipsterville central, Williamsburg. This is the view from our terrace. Brooklyn has more sky than Manhattan -- something not to be taken lightly.

Yuki nap time

We adopted our Shiba Inu puppy, Yuki, at the end of July in '09. She likes to sleep on our shoes.

Ice Storm

All things that go deep enough
Into rain and cold
Take on, before they break down,
A shining in every part.
-- from James Dickey's "The Ice Skin"

One must have a mind of winter...
not to think / Of any misery in the sound of the wind...
For the listener, who listens in the snow,
And, nothing himself, beholds
Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.
-- from Wallace Stevens's "The Snow Man"

Nova Scotia
In August '06, I went to Nova Scotia to visit the area where my grandmother, Irene Currie, grew up. We drove from Halifax to Glace Bay and stopped to take pictures here and there.

This is the view of Glace Bay, near where my grandmother grew up.
Outside the Glace Bay Mining Museum where we experienced the claustrophobia our uncles had every day at work.
